The South Texas Juvenile Diabetes Association (STJDA) and HOPE 4 Kids Living with Diabetes held a Sugar Surfing Workshop on October 22, 2016 with Dr. Stephen W. Ponder, MD, FAAP, CDE.
The free Conference is for Families Living with Diabetes, Caregivers, and anyone seeking information about state-of-the-art dynamic diabetes management known as “Sugar Surfing”™. Sugar Surfing is a way of taking charge of your body and directing your blood sugar for the primary purpose of helping you to live a normal life. The pictures record Dr. Ponder’s wonderful care and fun approach to teaching life altering lessons to T1D youngsters seeking to live as normal a life as possible.
The conference was held at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley Medical Center and over 100 attendees attended. FIFTY 50 was in attendance providing information on their monthly diabetes testing supply program and many diabetes testing and glucose pump products including continuous glucose monitoring supplies. Many thanks to South Texas Juvenile Diabetes Association for hosting this workshop.
Rebecca McCleery, the mother of a T1D son, represented FIFTY 50, the diabetes testing supplies and diabetes pump supplies company who since 1992 has donated 1/2 of profits towards diabetes research.
